Addison Rae is preparing to release more pop music. A preview for her song "High Fashion," which was released on Monday, features Rae showcasing a feather boa in a walk-in closet, tossing her blonde hair in a rainy forest, and wiping white powder from beneath her nose. The words "I don’t need your drugs, I’d rather get high fashion" appear in pink, bold letters on the screen.
Set to be released on February 14, "High Fashion" is the first single of the year from the TikTok star who transitioned into a pop artist. The synth-heavy track is a follow-up to Rae's ethereal, alt-pop single "Diet Pepsi," which was her first to break into the Billboard Hot 100, and "Aquamarine," which was released in October.
In her Rolling Stone cover story, Rae stated that after moving to Los Angeles, she wanted to distance herself from her social media persona—she has 88.5 million followers on TikTok—and focus on achieving recognition in the pop music industry.

“As soon as I got the opportunity to start writing music and acting, I did,” said Rae, who appeared in Netflix's "He's All That" in 2021. “When I moved here, I was like, ‘OK, I have to start acting classes. I have to start singing. I have to start these things immediately, because I’m already so behind.’”
Rae made her first public performance during Charli XCX's Boiler Room set last February, where she sang "2 Die For" from her 2023 EP "AR." The pair worked together again the following month on a remix of "Von Dutch," in which Rae lets out a now-famous primal scream. Rae also joined Charli XCX and Troye Sivan during their Sweat Tour, making a surprise appearance in New York. Rae's upcoming album—which is currently untitled and unfinished—will include the singles "Diet Pepsi" and "Aquamarine."
