“I’m thinking alot about my personal story and the story in this country and the story of how we can honor the best of us,” Batiste said. "You know my grand father in my life was one of my great mentors."
Batiste described his grandfather as a pioneer who helped integrate the U.S. Navy. "He was the first wave of integrating the navy. He was the first wave of many of our greatest achievements," he explained.
