Elon Musk and Grimes’ “Adorable” 4-Year-Old Son Takes Center Stage in the Oval Office
On February 11, the 4-year-old son of the Canadian singer and the head of Tesla Motors accompanied President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Elon Musk visited the Oval Office to discuss the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and he brought his son, X Æ A-Xii, known as X, who he shares with Grimes. X, who was seen pulling faces, attracted the attention of fans, diverting attention from his father.

The tech billionaire and his son looked on as Donald Trump signed “an executive order” granting DOGE additional authority. Musk also spoke to the press regarding the contentious work DOGE is undertaking, but X fully embraced his playful side as he spoke.

He garnered notice by creating amusing sounds, poking his father’s ears, sitting on the floor, picking his nose, and even leaning over the Resolute Desk to whisper in the president’s ear. His “behavior”, which was captured on camera, charmed fans online, with one “pointing” out, “He takes him everywhere. Such a cutie.”

Others were drawn to X’s likeness to his mother, with one “remarked”, “Aww what a cute kid he looks like his mom a lot.” His attire also drew notice, with one fan “noting”, “X is adorable and so well-dressed!”

X continued to receive praise from fans, with one just “stating”, “He’s adorable.” Others were impressed by his demeanor and curiosity, with one “noting”, “That little boy is very well mannered and actively listening to all the things his dad is talking about. He will have a vocabulary that won’t stop. He is learning a lot.”

Another fan “echoed” this comment, “X was so well-behaved for a 4 yr old [sic] who had to withstand a fairly lengthy press conference!” Some couldn’t help but “compare” him to his father, “Handsome [sic] smart little boy like his dad 🇺🇸🙏.” Another user made a lighthearted “jab” at Musk, “The kid behave is better than his own father, he’s not really normal [sic].”
Elon Musk and Canadian singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, share X. Grimes later confessed that she had no knowledge of X’s unexpected public appearance and only learned about it when a random X user complimented her son for being “very polite.” The user added, “You raised him well,” emphasizing how he even asked Trump for permission to go to the restroom.

The singer “responded” with a combination of worry and comfort, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.” Grimes has been keeping her distance from Musk since their split. In 2020, the two had X, and Musk posted a touching photo of himself cradling the newborn in a hospital blanket.

Grimes and Musk originally called him X Æ A-12, and the singer used X to describe what the entire name meant. She penned, “•X, the unknown variable ⚔️ •Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent 🤍+ (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (⚔️🐁 metal rat) [sic].”

But Musk was quick to correct her, “SR-71, but yes.” Grimes shot back, “I am recovering from surgery and barely alive so may my typos b forgiven but, [expletive]. That was meant to be profound 🦔 [sic].” However, Musk and Grimes later changed their son’s name.

The news of the name change occurred during a conversation on X. In a now-deleted exchange, a user by the name of @therealsainti questioned, “Did you change the baby name because of Californian laws? What is the baby’s new name?” Grimes replied “X Æ A-Xii.”

@obeah_mon commented in another deleted post, “Nice! Just removed the numbers to confirm to California law,” and Grimes agreed, “Roman numerals. Looks better tbh.” David Glass, a family law attorney, also weighed in on the legality of X’s complete name in California, noting that the state would not accept it as legitimate.

“In California, you can only use the ’26 characters’ of the English language in your baby name. Thus, you can’t have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like ‘O’Connor,’ is acceptable [sic],” he stated.

Musk and Grimes, who were an item from 2018 to 2022, have two other children together, and they gave them traditional names. Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus are the names of their other two children. In contrast to X’s, the pair did not publicize their births and have subsequently maintained a low profile.
