Jeffrey Moore had never considered adoption until he experienced a profound vision from God.
“The journey of adoption began because God called us to it,” shared Jeffrey, who, along with his wife Kristine, has four adopted children. “I had a vision, and it was incredibly powerful.”
He went on to explain: “I was floating in the ocean at night. It was serene and tranquil, and I felt as though I was being guided by something in the water, like a current gently pushing me toward a destination.”
In Jeffrey’s vision, the water gradually became shallower, and he found himself walking along a beach that seemed to belong to a tropical island.
“There were countless jewels or gemstones scattered across the sand, each one glowing with an inner fire,” he recounted. “These points of light surrounded me … and I felt an overwhelming urge to reach out and pick one up.”
JOURNEY TO PERU
As the vision came to an end, Jeffrey recalled hearing God speak to him.
“He said, ‘My son, are you willing to be carried by my spirit to a distant land to gather the jewels that no one else knows about?’” Jeffrey remembered.
This compelling vision convinced Jeffrey that God was calling him and Kristine to adopt children from another country.
Jeffrey’s stance on adoption transformed entirely. Initially, he had been opposed to the idea, stating:
“I don’t think I could love a child that wasn’t biologically mine.”
With their biological son, Joshua, Jeffrey and Kristine traveled to Peru in 2017 in search of children to adopt. They returned to the U.S. with Elizabeth, Jhonatan, Mariaelena, and Talia – all siblings. The couple’s adopted children are thriving in their new lives in America.
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
Kristine reflected, “Our kids have been amazing. If anyone asks, ‘What’s the greatest joy?’ it’s seeing the kids love Jesus.”
The couple documented their adoption journey in the book, “We Believed: Our Ten-Year Journey Pursuing God’s Promises to Adopt Four Children.”
