Kylie from Melbourne, Australia, called into the radio show, Nova’s Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle, to share the moment her fairytale turned into a nightmare. “I had a really short marriage. It wasn’t even 24 hours,” she revealed.

According to the woman, she and her now-ex had been together for six years. Their wedding day was everything she’d dreamed of until it wasn’t.

“We got married and had a beautiful wedding. And he was gone for the reception,” she said, per the Daily Mail.

The pair had just finished a picturesque ceremony and posed for wedding photos, which Kylie described as picture-perfect.

“He was beautiful during the photoshoot, he was the love of my life,” she said. But shortly after, he vanished, leaving her and all the guests behind.

“We had the ceremony, did the photos… and then he just disappeared. I didn’t hear from him for months,” Kylie added.

Remarkably, the reception went on as planned, with guests unaware of the sudden twist. Kylie held it together, despite the heartbreak, telling the radio hosts: “Everyone was fine to stay and party the whole night, but I went back to my room by myself.”

Then came the phone calls from well-meaning family, congratulating her and asking about the honeymoon. “It was really hard, especially talking to family members [who called to ask about the new husband the next day],” Kylie admitted.

But the worst blow came days later, when she learned the identity of the woman he had been seeing: her own cousin.

“He didn’t want to be with me. He was seeing somebody else [the whole time], but he let us get married,” Kylie explained. “He’s with my cousin now, he was cheating on me with her.”

Unsurprisingly, the woman has cut ties with both her cousin and her ex-husband. “I don’t see him or my cousin. That would be really awkward,” she said.

Despite the betrayal, Kylie has found a way to laugh about the bizarre ordeal, revealing on the show: “My kids think it’s hilarious, it’s brought up all the time.”

When asked if she would ever give marriage another shot, Kylie didn’t hesitate to say “No”.
